Drumseeder demo

GLAN, Sarangani (July 10, 2008) – A farmer uses a drumseeder during a demo by the Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice) Thursday, July 10, in barangay Baliton. The PhilRice-developed plastic drumseeder sows 20-60 kg. of pre-germinated seeds per hectare in straight lines instead of farmers manually broadcasting 80-150 kg. of seeds. PhilRice, thru Sangguniang Panlalawigan agriculture committee chair Board Member Rolando Octavio, is introducing to Sarangani farmers mechanization of rice farming.
