Camacho named OIC provincial administrator; Paraba is OIC PPDO

ALABEL, Sarangani (November 3, 2009) – Governor Migs Dominguez today accepted the irrevocable resignation of provincial administrator Fredo Basino and named Vicente Camacho III, provincial government assistant department head, as officer-in-charge of the Provincial Administrator’s Office (PADO).

Rene Paraba, assistant head of the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) which Basino concurrently headed, is officer-in-charge of the planning office.

During an executive committee meeting, the governor told department heads that Basino’s resignation was triggered by his aspiration to seek a higher office.

However, the governor had told Basino “we cannot accommodate you in our party,” the ruling Sarangani Reformation and Reconciliation Organization.

Governor Dominguez asked Basino to “allocate the next few days to effect a smooth transition of responsibilities for PADO and PPDO.”

“As a professional we would like to thank Fred for serving my administration,” the governor said.

In 2001, Basino also resigned as PPDO under then Governor Priscilla Chiongbian to run as vice governor opposing Chiongbian’s party. He lost.

In Basino’s resignation letter dated November 3, 2009, he thanked Governor Dominguez “for the opportunity given me to serve under your administration in the past five (5) years… Rest assured, such honor and privilege will be treasured in the rest of my life. I just hope that I have come up to the measures and standards you have set for me to perform.”

Basino’s letter further stated “I am at the crossroads where there is a need for me to look beyond present realities towards the future and have the courage to respond properly to the demand of my potentials as a person, professional and leader.”

Basino also thanked the governor “for your continued trust, kindness and generosity.” (SARANGANI INFORMATION OFFICE)
