Fire tree in Sarangani highway

ALABEL, Sarangani (April 18, 2009) – A fire tree, (scientific name Morella faya, previously myrica faya) blooms with bunches of fiery orange flowers along the national highway to the province’s east coast going to Gumasa, Glan, where tourists can enjoy powder-white sand beaches. Sarangani’s coastal highway, connecting the east and west coast of the province and its only landlocked town of Malungon, was built by the United States in the early 90s.
