MAASIM, Sarangani (May 26, 2010) – Environmentalist Amado Saño paints a wall in Mangelen Elementary School Tuesday, May 25, along with other local artists from SAYO (Sarangani Youth Organization), CALYE (Calumpang Youth for Empowerment) and students from the Mindanao StateUniversity. Saño’s murals depict the plight of marine mammals worldwide and to raise awareness of local communities on the importance of dolphins in our ecosystem. As part of his advocacy,Saño’s goal is to paint 23,000 dolphins across the country to represent the number of dolphins slaughtered in a seven month period in Japan alone.
