Tupa derby

MAITUM, Sarangani (May 6, 2008) – A player tries to hit his coconut with the one rolled down by his opponent and whichever breaks loses the tupa derby during the Binuyugan Festival. Tupa, a popular traditional game among Ilocano and Pangalatok (from Pangasinan) in Sarangani, sometimes involves family pride and honor that coconut trees bearing hard shells are valued.
