MAITUM, Sarangani (November 19, 2008) - Mayor Elsie Perrett shows off a bunch of crabs gathered from the crab fattening demo farm in barangay Old Poblacion. Looking on is Lloyd Penaredondo of Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources. The Kasamahan ng mga Maliliit na Mangingisda (LMM) manages the demo farm which started with 252 crablets in April this year. Another 666 crablets were added in July. KMM has already gathered at least 50 kilos of crabs from the demo farm. KMM is looking for local supply of crablets from salty water which will provide them a higher yield.
