Guest of Honor

GLAN, Sarangani (October 9, 2009) - President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo revisits Glan Thursday, October 8, for its 95th foundation rites and Lubi-lubi Festival. The president opened the building of Customs Immigration Quarantine and Security (CIQS) One Stop Action Center (OSAC). The action center now houses the satellite offices of the Bureau of Customs (BOC), Bureau of Immigration and Deportation (BID), Department of Health (DOH), Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI), Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), and the Philippine Coast Guard. Exporters and importers from the Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East Asean Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) will now have an easier time conducting business in Sarangani province. The CIQS-OSAC in Glan is also expected to boost direct shipping services between the Jose Abad Santos-Glan-Sarangani Cooperation Triangle (JAGS-CT) and Indonesia's North Sulawesi province.
