MAASIM, Sarangani (August 25, 2008) – An International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) volunteer assists displaced persons sheltering in Colon Elementary School Monday, August 25. An ICRC convoy with three truckloads of non-food items such as sleeping mats, blankets, towels, mosquito nets, buckets, basins, jerry cans, soaps, toothpaste, toothbrush arrived here this morning for 1,200 families in the different evacuation areas. Donors and the local government units provide food items. Rogue Moro Islamic Liberation Front forces killed two innocent civilians when they raided Maasim a week ago triggering evacuation in some villages. Military manhunt operations are ongoing.
