KIAMBA, Sarangani (March 13, 2009) – Barangay microscopist Jo-an Hechanova (left) of Senator Ninoy Aquino town extracts blood samples from Bairang Fulachi, a resident of barangay Katubao during the Malaria Active Case Finding Wednesday, March 11. More than 100 residents voluntarily submitted themselves for screening and three cases were found positive for malaria blood parasites. This is part ofthe 35-day intensive training on Basic Malaria Microscopy for BarangayMicroscopist implemented by the Tropical Disease Foundation, Inc. and supported by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.(KIAMBA NEWS CENTER/Allan C. de Lima)
